I guess it's time

Well I think it's about time for a new post. Instagram has taken over blogland and I'm not even mad about it. So here is the update.

We MOVED!
We came back from Alberta to a new house and let me tell you how glorious it has been! I blamed a lot on being in our small basement suite and there were nights after being so frustrated with our place that I would sit there and wonder if it really was going to make a difference when we moved, or if I was just a really pessimistic person. Turns out I'm not just a pessimistic person!! Living above ground with big beautiful windows and space to spare has made such a difference, it's almost unbelievable!

Next up was moving Max into a big bed so that Rani could get out of our room and into the crib. That was a little bit of a nightmare. For the first few weeks he would just get up a million times a night and once we got sick of putting him back in his bed for an hour and a half we just decided to lay with him until he fell asleep. It worked pretty good but that wasn't ideal or easy when Mark was gone so one day I told Max that no one was going to lay with him at bed time and that he needed to go to sleep by himself and it worked fabulously! Really I just think he needed to do a little more growing up to get it.
And after enjoying some fabulous family time Mark started school again.
One Saturday we took a trip to the Regina temple as a family. It was a long day! But worth it, of course! Ever since that trip Max recognizes temples instantly!

And at some point in there this girl got less fussy and more adorable! She started smiling and laughing and then...she started teething...
And we have been teething ever since!
And then Ben and Quincee came to visit which was the best! Seriously, it was so fun to spend some time with them especially since we know Quincee is a permanent thing. We love them! It was just so comfortable! We couldn't be more excited for them! Marriage is the best and they're such a power couple!
 Max LOVES his uncle Ben!

Family is the best! And I love that our kids are already figuring that out!

And then we had our ward Halloween party and we dressed up as Captain Hook, Wendy, Peter Pan and Tinker Bell.

For FHE one night we rode the bus as a family.

And then my family came to visit! And Max loves his Uncle Mik!
Halloween night we took Max trick-or-treating just down our street. He was more interested in the pumpkins on the step but it was fun to take him and get to know some of our neighbours.

...Once there was a snowman small, small, small...
And then Max covered himself in Penaten while we were watching the last session of General Conference. If you're wondering the best way to get this stuff off, let me tell you! First scrape as much off as you can. We used those plastic pan scrapers for that. Then wash them with some type of cooking oil. It will take the Penaten off but of course will leave them all greasy so then you have to wash them with dish soap! And that's it!

Since then there has been lots of Lego towers built.
Max has figured out how to turn on the light. Thank goodness electricity is included in rent!
 And then it snowed.
And then we got MORE visitors! Talk about spoiled. I guess that's what happens when you have TWO grand kids living with you.

 And again Max loved it!
 And so did Rani.

Somewhere in there Max figured out this whole potty training business! Thank goodness!
And there were a couple date nights.
And lots of talks about being gentle.
After a big snow fall Mark tried to build a snowman with Max. The snow just isn't very sticky when it's still frozen.
Rani has spent a lot of time in the Jolly Jumper and Mark and Max have made a few batches of cookies. Sometimes at the same time!
There has even been some sharing and lots of loving!

And then Max jumped off his bed and broke his leg.
So we made our third trip to the hospital since June and he got an awesome red cast.
And then we set up Christmas!

And after wearing the cast for two weeks he's learned to not let it slow him down at all. That kid never stops!

And I think that about brings things up to speed. Like all other poor bloggers I would leave you hopeful with a post in the near future but I'm more real than that so if it happens you can be pleasantly surprised.

A Window

My siblings, my father and I surprised my mother with a window. It was pretty awesome!
